A Wayward Heart

In 2010 "A Wayward Heart" released a 7 song cd called "As Sure As Seasons Change."
The artwork on the cover is an artsy sun and snow flake combined, its a creative design yet pretty much what you might expect from an indie band.

The cd starts off with an introduction, which is a short clip of an old blue grass song known as "There is a time" which is covered fully at the end of the album.

Track number 2 comes in fast and strong with the album's lead single "Apparition" a fast paced rock song and definitely the albums originality at its peak. The song is fast paced with a nice catchy guitar hook, and good words, heavy drums. All around a solid song. I give it a 9/10

Track number 3 titled "Another made burn" keeps up with the fast paced feel of "Apparition" with a great and catchy breakdown. The song is easily the third best track on the album.
a solid 7/10

Track 4 slows things down a bit with the songs acoustic led ballad "Let go" about a friend of front man Austin Livingood's, who struggled with drugs, and Austin confronted him. Austin then wrote this song. Its a beautiful song with beautiful meaning.
7/10

Number five speeds things up again with the title track, Which is a fun song and easy on the ears. Definitely a solid filler. 7/10.

Number 6 rolls around and is titled "Sheer Conspiracy" and is the only song on the album I could not get into. The song moves along pretty slowly, and does not serve well in its placement on the album. Its a filler only song, not a selling point.
Solid 5/10

All good albums must come to a good close right? The cover of "There is a time" is brilliantly placed at the end, with a bass drum and claps under the beautiful lyrics. When the guitar rolls in it brings a southern classic rock feel which becomes haunting. It then runs into a big breakdown, which has a classic rock sound. As the breakdown ends, it goes back to the acoustic guitar and bass drum, and claps as the whole band begins to sing a spine chilling verse with small harmonies.
9/10

My final ratings
Originality 8/10
Musician skill 8/10
Vocal Skill 7/10
Marketability 7/10

Overall I give the album a solid 7.5/10
